Hello,
if you want a nice lawn, you need to fertilize at least twice a year. It’s clear that the lawn will grow more actively for a while afterward, but in return, you get a denser turf. I fertilize once in spring and once in autumn. This way, the soil has enough nutrients for the winter, which gives a better start when the warm weather begins.

When fertilizing, you need to be careful not to do it while the sun is shining directly. It is best to fertilize in the evening because the dew then helps dissolve the fertilizer, allowing it to penetrate the soil effectively. Alternatively, you can wait until rain is forecast.

Hello Paddel,
Why do you want to fertilize your lawn? Are you aiming for an English-style lawn or more of a functional turf?
On my property, I have two large lawn areas that I have never fertilized. Lawns don’t necessarily need fertilizer; they can grow quite well without it.
However, if you do want to fertilize, I would recommend using a liquid fertilizer at a low concentration (diluted with water). About half of the amount suggested on the packaging. This way, you can fertilize your lawn more often and maintain a consistent nutrient level without giving it large nutrient surges.
Frequent fertilizing with a low concentration should result in even lawn growth.
Best regards,

Badenixe-128 Jan 2009 22:02... how often is it advisable to fertilize the lawn? The best approach: never! An "English lawn" is a sterile surface, biologically not much more valuable than artificial turf. Without fertilization, a species-rich natural meadow develops instead.
