I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

A different requirement is the demand: grass, not meadow, not clover field, but lawn, then fertilize.

The goal is to have a lawn suitable for playing and walking barefoot.

Other areas are designated for different uses. Besides a hardscape area, there are approximately 400 square meters (4,300 square feet) that have not been maintained for almost 30 years.

Without having read everything here: what kind of fertilizer exactly should one use?

As I mentioned, the wild meadow area is where we don’t mow—but I didn’t have to do anything there at all. Since we also didn’t treat the lawn before, a variety of herbs and flowers are now growing there that were previously hidden because I always just mowed everything down.

The lawn is mowed, but I still don’t do much maintenance on it. It’s still suitable to walk on barefoot; the children do that all the time. But it’s not just grass. For example, I have thyme growing all over the garden, even within the lawn area. It always smells nice when mowing ^^. Daisies also grow between the mowing sessions every two weeks.

However, where we have a bit of clover, I should probably apply some fertilizer sometime.

I use the long-term fertilizer from Compo

N stands for nitrogen. M is magnesium for the leaf green, S for sulfur and P for phosphorus for soil life. So the first supports nutrition, the second the appearance, and the third and fourth improve the soil. For example, such a fertilizer is available at an agricultural supply store, 25 kg (55 lbs), 23 euros.

It is helpful to mow with mulching mowers instead of ones with a catcher.
