ᐅ How many drawers with Tofta fronts fit into an Ikea Besta shelving unit?

Hello dear IKEA fans,

For a few days now, I have had a question on my mind that I haven’t been able to fully answer despite my own research. I hope you can help clarify it for me. ;o)

So, I’m wondering:

How many drawers with TOFTA fronts fit into a BESTÅ cabinet with the dimensions 60 cm / 64 cm / 40 cm (H / W / D)?

From image searches, it seems that four 16 cm (6.3 inches) drawers fit, which also cover the top and bottom edges of the cabinet frame.
Ultimately, I would also like to achieve this effect of covering the cabinet edges, but with only two drawers (2 x 26 cm (10.2 inches)) or three (2 x 26 cm (10.2 inches) + 1 x 16 cm (6.3 inches)).

Anyone doing a quick calculation will immediately realize that this cannot work due to the total height of the drawer combinations. Either there is a gap (with 2 x 26 cm (10.2 inches)) or the fronts would extend endlessly beyond the top and bottom.

I also once saw a “hack image,” where I think a 26 cm (10.2 inches) drawer was mounted on top and below it a somewhat larger front. I would roughly estimate the size ratio of the two fronts from memory as about 1/3 to 2/3. But such fronts don’t seem to exist... maybe that’s the trick in the hack? =)

I would really appreciate if someone with good experience on this topic could assist me.

How can I use drawers with white high-gloss fronts in a 64 cm (25.2 inches) high cabinet without having to use four 16 cm (6.3 inches) drawers and still cover the entire front without gaps?

Thank you very much in advance for your kind support!

Best regards

P.S.: One of my ideas was to shorten the cabinet height to 52 cm (20.5 inches) so I could simply use two 26 cm (10.2 inches) drawers. Would that be theoretically possible?

No, I was going to do that, but when putting things away, it turned out there were already enough drawers, and the door was more practical.
Since the holes for the eccentric dowels in Inreda drawers need to be drilled very precisely, I would have chosen a 35cm (14 inch) deep Rationell pull-out drawer (preferably the original version from Blum). This allows for some adjustment of the front panel if the drilling wasn’t perfectly accurate.
