Hello everyone, I am currently planning the renovation of my small kitchen and have chosen the Ikea Metod system. Since the kitchen is really quite compact, I am wondering how to assemble the cabinets and fronts in the most space-saving and efficient way possible. Are there proven sequences, measuring tips, or handling tricks for the individual components that make assembly easier, especially in small rooms? I am also interested in advice on dealing with corners and low ceilings, as well as how to best utilize the available storage space without restricting movement. I look forward to your tips and experiences because with this well-designed system, I want to avoid unnecessary effort and complete the installation as smoothly as possible.

Align the corners first, then install the straight cabinet rows. Attach the fronts last. To avoid pressure marks in small kitchens, never tilt the cabinets against the wall; instead, carefully lift them into place.

In any case, attach cover panels and trim strips only after the cabinets are installed. Otherwise, making small adjustments becomes difficult.

Also: Do not tighten the screws too much to allow for some adjustment.

That is correct and generally recommended when using the Metod system. Additionally, I would like to add that when aligning the corner cabinets, a special corner panel connector can be helpful to ensure a flush and stable connection.

Likewise, precise adjustment and correct tightening of the screws are essential to prevent warping. It is also important to secure the cabinets to the wall and to each other using mounting brackets to ensure stability, especially in compact kitchen spaces.
