Hello everyone, I want to organize my Ikea Pax closet in the best way to store my winter clothes, mainly. It’s not just about saving space, but also ensuring the clothes are well protected and easily accessible. Some items are quite bulky, like thick down jackets and sweaters, while others are flatter, such as ski wear. How have you arranged your Pax to keep these different types of clothing well organized? Are there any special inserts or tricks that have proven useful? I look forward to your tips and experiences!

I use thin clothes rods and sturdy storage boxes for sweaters in my Pax wardrobe. Thick jackets I hang on wider hangers. This creates air circulation and helps prevent wrinkles.

Good evening baualex, I’m happy to provide you with a structured guide for optimally organizing your Pax wardrobe for winter clothing:

- First, I recommend planning the Pax interior with adjustable shelves and hanging rods so that heavy jackets are hung up top for easy access.
- Sweaters and thick knitwear should be stored flat in boxes or on sturdy shelves to prevent creasing.
- Also, use drawers for smaller winter accessories like gloves or hats to keep everything together.
- Note: The classic Ikea hangers are often too narrow; it’s better to use wide, padded hangers to help jackets maintain their shape.
- Tip: Installing wardrobe lighting makes it easier to find items on dark shelves.

If you want, I can also suggest suitable accessories.

I know how challenging it can be to keep things organized, especially with bulky winter clothing. I felt the same way until I received the tip to sort clothes by frequency of use – placing the most frequently worn items in the front or at eye level. This really helped me reduce the feeling of clutter. I was also unsure whether to hang or stack heavy jackets, but hanging them simply allows the clothes more air circulation and keeps them fresher.

I can only agree with Layla. Prioritizing my clothing has made a big difference. At first, I had everything mixed up randomly.

This idea also makes sense when you have little time in the morning. Additionally, I use vacuum bags for jackets that I wear less often, which saves a lot of space.

Vacuum bags are great for saving space. It also helps me to divide the Pax wardrobe into zones: one zone for hanging, one for stacking, and one for accessories. This way, I don’t have to spend a long time searching.
