Hello everyone, I am facing the challenge of installing a charging station for my smartphone and other devices discreetly inside an Ikea Besta cabinet. Specifically, I am looking for advice on how to integrate the power supply safely and neatly without damaging the furniture or affecting its appearance. I have a moderate level of technical knowledge but want to be cautious, especially regarding wiring, mounting the chargers (e.g., Qi chargers), and any necessary openings. Has anyone had experience with this type of installation? Are there any special tips on how to route the wiring discreetly and which charging station would be most suitable? Thanks for your expertise!

It is important that no metal parts are in direct contact that could interfere with the signal.Thank you for the advice; that helps me a lot. My Besta actually has a thin metal plate behind the shelf (for stabilization). This means I need to either move the charging area forward or insert an insulation panel that is not too thick so the Qi charging can work through it.
I am planning a small hole in the back panel for the cable. Do you have any tips on the recommended drill size so the cable fits well without the hole being too noticeable? Also, I am considering whether to install a USB multi-charging station that is permanently connected or to use individual chargers. Which option do you think is more elegant and safer?
