Hello everyone, I have a question that I would like to explain in detail here because I haven’t found a truly satisfactory answer yet: What is the best way to clean an Ikea Pax wardrobe when it is subjected to heavy use?
I’m not just talking about regular dusting, but especially about stubborn dirt and signs of wear caused by frequent opening, leaning against it, or even accidental spills.
I’m particularly interested in which cleaning products are really recommended, how to treat the surfaces without damaging them, and whether it’s better to remove certain parts or how to organize the cleaning process overall to keep the wardrobe in good condition for as long as possible despite intensive use.
Does anyone have experience, tips, or perhaps explanations about the materials used in Pax, so that the cleaning can be done properly? Thanks in advance for your helpful answers!

I want to make sure that I don’t cause micro-scratches on the surfaces, especially with frequent cleaning.Exactly, that is important! Microfiber cloths are suitable, but if they are dirty or contain dust, they can act like sandpaper. So it’s best to shake the cloths out well before use and wash them regularly without fabric softener.
Great discussion here! I can only encourage you to keep at it – regular maintenance works wonders!
I always clean my Pax by first dusting it with a dry microfiber cloth, then using a damp cloth with a mild cleaner, and finally drying everything immediately.
For stains, I also like to use a small sponge and take a bit more time – it definitely pays off!
Keep it up; your furniture will thank you!
