Hello everyone,

I am planning to transport an Ikea Brimnes furniture piece, but I’m unsure how to best prevent damage during the move. The furniture consists of several parts, including doors, carcasses, and back panels, which seem to be quite delicate.

Are there any proven methods or precautions to keep in mind specifically when transporting a Brimnes piece? How can I best protect the sensitive surfaces and edges from scratches, dents, or breaks?

I look forward to your tips and experiences!

Store doors vertically if possible, as this reduces pressure marks.

I fully agree with this. The doors of the Brimnes are quite prone to dents, especially because the coated wood is not very thick. So if you stand the doors upright and lined up in the trunk and cushion them well, you can avoid excessive pressure.

Also, make sure that no sharp or hard objects press directly against the surfaces when loading.

It is also important not to clamp the parts too tightly when securing them, as this can cause unwanted deformations or cracks.
