Hello everyone, I have the following question: What is the best way to attach objects to a carpeted floor without damaging or restricting the carpet too much? Specifically, I want to secure light to medium-weight items like shelves or cable ducts, which need to be fixed firmly so they won’t slip around. Are there special anchors or adhesive methods suitable for carpets? I have tried a few things already but am unsure about what works long-term without ruining the carpet. I look forward to your tips and experiences, especially if you know of any creative solutions.

Perhaps the fundamental question is: why glue or drill directly onto the carpet at all? The carpet is not a load-bearing surface. Being a bit more confident about mounting directly on the wall would be more efficient and less damaging.
Exactly. So why make it complicated when you have a simple, secure option on the wall?
Of course, there are exceptions, but most of the time people are looking at the wrong problem.

I would like to address the type of carpet again. For example, if you have a velour or deep-pile carpet, attaching something directly onto the carpet is more problematic because the surface is uneven and the material can easily deform.
This is an important point: The question often arises because people assume that all attachments need to be aligned with the carpet. However, as mentioned before, the wall is usually the better option.
If direct attachment to the carpet is necessary, I recommend special carpet fasteners or hook-and-loop solutions that do not damage the carpet while improving hold.
It really depends on the situation and the materials used.
