Hello everyone, I am currently planning to customize my Ikea Besta drawers and want to equip them with custom inserts to improve organization. My question is: How can I modify Ikea Besta drawers so that tailored inserts fit perfectly without compromising stability or interfering with the drawer mechanism? I have already taken some measurements but am unsure how to securely fix the inserts and which materials might be especially suitable. I would greatly appreciate practical tips, experience-based advice, and recommendations on tools or techniques.

Sketches or simple CAD programs help with precise layout.

Accurate planning is key. I recommend drawing templates directly on the drawer with pencil and ruler before manufacturing. This helps avoid measurement errors and makes adjustments easier.

Also: If you use wood, be sure to attach acrylic felt pads to the bottom side of the insert. This protects the drawer from scratches and improves the sliding properties of the inserts.

Stick acrylic felt pads to the bottom side of the inserts. This protects the drawer from scratches and improves the sliding properties of the inserts.

Additionally: When fastening the inserts, make sure that mounting adhesives or hook-and-loop fasteners can be removed without leaving residue. This allows for adjustments or later removal without damaging the material.

In summary:
- Accurate measurements
- Custom-fit inserts made from suitable materials
- Gentle, flexible fixation
- Protection of the drawer interior surfaces against wear
These steps ensure optimized organization while maintaining functionality.
