Good evening everyone,
We are currently planning the exterior design of our house and would appreciate advice from those with building experience 🙂
How did you approach the color scheme for the outside? For example, the roof tile color, window frames, front door, garage door, and so on?
There is always the option to choose RAL colors... Has anyone done this, or how did you coordinate your colors?
(PS: Our house will be white, and the tiles/windows/front door, etc., will be in a dark gray/light black tone...)
Thanks in advance for your opinions!
Kind regards

Don't forget about the outdoor area.
Brickwork and divided-light windows don’t quite fit with an Asian Zen garden.
On the other hand, a white house with anthracite elements can become unique through the outdoor design.
Before getting too detailed: different substrates, materials, and coating processes can cause the same RAL color to appear differently. Around noon, the window frames, the door, and the garage door might look like three different shades.

But this isn’t really about aesthetics or anything like that. It’s about how the color palette was chosen. Yes, I understand that. I also wanted to express that the color itself, or possibly higher additional costs, don’t necessarily have to result in what I would consider a “bad” outcome. It’s possible to tastefully combine whites, grays, or reds in a way that complies with building regulations and is affordable for me. Maybe we were just talking past each other a bit_o
I’m quite limited in this myself and look for help with it. I found something online about 101 exciting color combinations for your designs… that kind of resource at least helps me get a somewhat better sense of what colors go well together.

I may be underestimating the restrictions that builders face from general contractors and developers. At least in our case, it wasn’t a limitation from the GC but from the window supplier. They just don’t want to cooperate, so it’s a case of “take it or leave it.”I recommend a fresh stone gray ;-) and I’m currently reflecting on the unfortunate nonconformist who went to the effort of choosing a Swedish house in British Racing Green, only to have all the red-green colorblind neighbors not even notice *LOL*
Ah, the punks' counter-counter-movement, the poppers, I had almost forgotten ;-).
That’s why one of my mantras is that RAL isn’t Pantone.

And for some, just going against the flow is a value in itself.
That’s actually how, for example, the hipster movement started, only to eventually turn into its opposite...
