Good morning,

I have put together a small list of extras and would appreciate any additional ideas you might have.

- In the ground floor living, dining, and kitchen areas, the electric switches should be controlled individually and connected in a “series circuit” to dim the lights.

- Controlled decentralized ventilation system with heat recovery.

- Preparation for photovoltaic system on the roof; missing on the garage roof.

- Two outdoor sockets on the ground floor.

- One outdoor connection for a light with motion sensor and switch on each side of the house.

- Three-phase power in the basement.

- Fireplace for a wood stove.

- Power supply in the garage.

- In the attic living, dining, and kitchen areas, leave the ceiling open up to the roof.

- Sliding doors with approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet) opening between the dining/living area and the hallway.

Thank you for your help.

I am bringing this thread back up and would like to know what additional features or upgrades you have chosen or declined beyond the typical standard equipment. We are currently considering what extras we want to include.

Great! What exactly is a motorized lock (electric locking of the front door?), and where can one get a metal reinforcement plate installed in the door? I want a particularly secure door (with alarm system, fingerprint access, etc.)

Weather station? What exactly does that mean? Is there now a small wind turbine on the roof, or is it more like a weather vane?

A motorized lock operates the front door by either opening, closing, or both. There are many different types and combinations, so it’s important to research beforehand and choose the best option for your needs. By the way, a fingerprint reader is not necessarily the most secure choice.

Here are a few manufacturers:

GU-Security
Fuhr Motronic
Dorma SVP
KFV Genius

and so on. Each manufacturer has its own pros and cons, and the cost can be significant. An alarm system is just one additional component; there is no door that comes with an integrated alarm, but there are doors with contacts for an alarm system. The alarm system itself must be purchased separately and integrated. There are countless manufacturers for these kinds of systems.

The metal reinforcement insert can be ordered from the door manufacturer; just ask them to include it, and they will take care of it. The same goes for motorized locks and similar hardware, which the company supplying your front door will handle.

My weather station consists of a multisensor (measuring wind, twilight, rain, east-south-west light levels, DCF signal) mounted on the roof

Three-cup anemometer on black base, wind measuring device for building services

and an indoor station that processes the data and displays it on screens inside the house. But again, there are thousands of variations of such systems.

This is roughly what the system looks like inside the house:
