we are currently in the middle of building our house and are doing as much as possible ourselves. This includes painting. Over the weekend, we were horrified to realize that we had mixed up the buckets and painted directly with interior paint instead of applying primer first.
Please don’t say we should have noticed. We are complete beginners and simply didn’t know better. Of course, we should have checked the bucket labels more carefully. What should we do now? We are talking about the entire upper floor, and we have used two buckets. The walls are drywall and smooth plaster.
We are really frustrated right now!
Thanks for any advice! Best regards

hampshire2 Apr 2019 19:40The primary purpose of the primer is to reduce and even out the absorbency of the substrate. This allows for a more uniform application of the paint. If everything looks good for you now, there is no problem. Maybe you just needed a bit more paint.
