Do not confuse floor-to-floor height with ceiling height. I believe 2.6m (8.5 ft) is more likely the ceiling height, while the floor-to-floor height will be around 3.0m (10 ft). Ask your designer to show you a cross-section of the staircase.

Regarding the children's rooms: a window at the end of a long corridor will not let in much light.

Am I the only one who only sees an empty questionnaire, but multiple times without any answers?

And: screenshots are definitely NOT enough to assess anything, let alone to identify anything. Please update everything properly or delete the post completely.

The second children's room isn’t dark though, as the sun still shines in from the west. We’ve seen this at the neighbours’ house.

In summer, maybe in the late evening (NW), yes. In winter/spring, however, the sun sets more in the SW, not exactly in the west.

Yes, many details are missing, and the fact that it was copied twice only makes it more confusing...

I would place the kitchen entrance in a slanted wall towards the living/dining area. This way, you don’t walk into a staircase but directly into the living/dining space.
You do lose a bit of space in the kitchen, but it feels more cozy and practical.

However, I would start planning from scratch... The upper floor is not acceptable at all!

On the upper floor, there is a long way from the bedroom to the bathroom, as well as a relatively large hallway. The rooms could be designed more efficiently and made larger by reducing the size of the hallway and also utilizing the space behind the staircase.
