Hello everyone,

I am now entering the critical phase, and after already modifying the floor plans once (guest room on the ground floor, removing the storage room, adding a shower, etc.), I need to make another revision since we will build a flat roof with a window door over the extension, and I will have to redesign the bedroom again. The bedroom is causing me the most concern anyway...

In this context, I would appreciate it if you could take a look at the floor plan and share your opinions and ideas. You can get “blind” to your own plans over time and often miss the obvious 😉

The plans are mostly correct, except that I will swap the window door in the guest room on the ground floor for a window (better furniture arrangement), I will swap the toilet and basin in the guest bathroom, and on the upper floor, I will move the walk-in closet entirely flush toward the children’s room so that I have more space beside the bed (otherwise it was only about 45cm (18 inches) on each side). I will upload pictures of the bedroom soon, along with an idea that includes a door.

I would also be interested in feedback on the kitchen. Should it be a U-shape, or a 4-meter (13 feet) wall with a kitchen island? What kind of window would fit then?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Well, it’s coming along. Try placing some furniture roughly to scale so you can better assess the walkways, door swings, etc.
Especially the bedroom walk-in closet could probably be optimized. That small wall projection there doesn’t make much sense, right? It should be removed.

Since the bathrooms and utility room are stacked, I would try to include a laundry chute down to the basement. That way, no one has to carry laundry downstairs. A blessing with two kids.

Also, it would be more convenient if we didn’t have to do a handstand to read the text. A simple north arrow would be enough. 😉

Giving the kitchen a flat roof is a good idea in my opinion; compared to a gable roof, it looks nicer than a hip roof.

I would change the direction the retractable ladder opens.

Personally, the windows starting at about chin height seem excessive to me.

Exactly.
A worktop width of 100cm (40 inches) also has the advantage that you can roll out dough with more depth. The 60cm (24 inches) width is regularly too narrow for me, and I have to use the dining table instead.

Where is the exit to the terrace?
You don’t want to have to walk around the peninsula, kitchen units, etc., just because you want to place a glass of water on the terrace.

Hm, the sliding door is directly in front of the island through the double-wing door... maybe I’ll change the transom window to a regular window to be able to hand something out?

Consider reducing the walk-in closet by 20cm (8 inches). Then you can move the children's room and bedroom doors, and a wardrobe would fit on the wall behind both rooms.

That is really a completely new idea.... THANK YOU.... but it would need to be about 50-60cm (20-24 inches) to fit a proper wardrobe behind.

No, you have 50cm (20 inches) next to the door. You slide the doors toward the dressing area.

Would the door still slide if you leave the walk-in closet as it is? Then you could also place a shelf behind it.
