We now want to add a garage to our property. We are planning dimensions of 7m x 4m (23 ft x 13 ft) with a shed roof. It has already been clarified with the building authority that no building permit or planning permission is required if we adhere to the measurements set by the regional building regulations (for boundary construction next to a neighbor – 9m length and 2.75m height (9 ft) are permit-exempt).
We would like to complete most of the construction work ourselves. We are quite handy, so we think we can manage  Masonry and facing brickwork will be done by a mason I know. What we still need for the project is a construction drawing, and this is where you come in. I haven’t really found any useful material online. Does anyone happen to have such a drawing that could be adapted for our project? Maybe even with structural calculations?
What are your thoughts on the foundation – a fully poured slab or a strip foundation? Opinions seem divided. We tend to lean toward a strip foundation to reduce moisture issues.
I look forward to your answers and advice.
Best regards

I don’t think anyone will give you a drawing including structural calculations that just happen to have the same dimensions. We had the same problem. Our architect quickly calculated the garage for a small fee and printed out the documents. Without these, it would have been a mess. The roof and walls need to fit together somehow, so it was worth every cent to us.
