If in the end, two out of nine builders are granted an exception permit, there is actually no need to establish a development plan at all. But well, for the beneficiary, it’s okay anyway. :-)

Our architect is currently designing the entire upper floor using drywall construction. However, I’m not entirely sure if this is the best choice regarding sound insulation. I have read various opinions but couldn’t find any conclusive information.
Is a 12.5mm (0.5 inch) drywall partition better than a 17.5cm (7 inch) solid wall? What are the additional costs for a solid wall? Isn’t it just the plaster?
What type of bricks are used in a 17.5cm (7 inch) wall?
How do the sound insulation values compare between drywall (double-layered) and solid walls?
For example, 40dB versus 50dB.
One possible advantage of drywall I see is potential savings through doing part of the work yourself.

It’s just the plaster, right? No, the block is 17.5cm (7 inches), then the plaster is applied.

What kind of bricks are used for a 17.5cm (7 inches) wall? Ytong, Poroton, sand-lime bricks... it depends.

What are the soundproofing values for drywall (double-layered) versus solid walls? It depends on the block type; you can’t generalize.
