I am looking for a suitable covering for our stairs, including the entrance area and intermediate landing. Currently, one or several carpets are installed on the stairs, which I would like to replace. The stairs are concrete, so I expect there to be quite a bit of adhesive residue.
Requirements for a new covering (no carpet) are:
- easy to install by myself
- durable covering (wet shoes & dirt, scratches from a dog or dropped keys...)
- textured surface
With these requirements, I came across vinyl.
Has anyone had experience with prefabricated vinyl stair treads or installed them themselves and can share their experience?
I would like to use the same covering on the landing, entrance area, and stairs. Can I install it as a floating floor (landing, entrance) and glue it down on the stairs? Or is it better to use two different floorings?
