I want to dig a pit measuring 5m x 5m x 5m (16ft x 16ft x 16ft).
For this, I plan to rent a mini excavator, but all the mini excavators I’ve found have a maximum digging depth of about 2 to 2.5 meters (6.5 to 8 feet).
What would be the best way to do this? Has anyone had experience with something like this?
Maybe there is a video I haven’t found yet, or some kind of guide?
I will need to dig a ramp or something similar to get in and out of the pit somehow!
I would be very grateful for any useful tips!

I guess it will be a cistern or a gas/oil tank. Given the size, placing it inside will be quite challenging. He can borrow a small pallet truck... it's already been paid off anyway.
Hello,
Even though the original poster will most likely not respond anymore, since they want to build *THE PROJECT* exactly as planned and were not willing to question themselves.
my 2 cents, Kermit

Either they will receive the “Darwin Award” (Google helps), or someone knowledgeable will assist them onsite and prevent worse outcomes for the original poster or their surroundings.

What happened? The incident commander described the scene as follows: A construction company is currently building a biogas plant on an agricultural property. After an excavator dug a trench about 3.50 meters (11.5 feet) deep, a 25-year-old and a 39-year-old worker entered the trench to lay pipes. During this work, the walls of the trench collapsed, and both men were buried by the soil. One was completely covered by the heavy clay soil, while the other was trapped up to around chest level.
