Hello everyone,
I want to buy, or have already bought, a used Ektorp corner sofa for the living room. The seller says it’s about 6 years old, with a spring core (!) and a pull-out bed function. At least the pull-out bed function is shown in the photos.
Since the cover has worn after 6 years, I want to buy a new one. So my question is: Does IKEA sell these? Is it a special cover? Do the “regular” covers for Ektorp fit?
Thanks!
Regards,
Rumpel

by now, there are quite a few suppliers that make sofa covers for IKEA sofas:
safemysofa.com
bemz.com
dekoria.com
They often even offer covers for discontinued models, such as the EKESKOG sofa. If you plan to buy a secondhand IKEA sofa that is 5–6 years old, you should generally check whether it is an EKTORP or an EKESKOG. These two models look quite similar but differ in their size and armrest shape. The larger EKESKOG sofa has not been available from IKEA for about 5 years. I’m not sure if these two models were sold in parallel for a while.

However, there seem to be enough customers willing to have their old IKEA sofa reupholstered instead of buying a new one. I have the Ekeskog myself, and it’s the most comfortable sofa I’ve ever had. I don’t really like any of the new IKEA sofas, regardless of price, so I will probably get mine reupholstered at some point.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you if the Ekeskog sofa was available as a corner sofa.
In any case, I wish you the best of luck.
Best regards
