Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information either in the forum or on Google. Most manufacturers already consider a height of 2.10 m (7 feet) to be unusual. My impression is rather that this dimension is now quite common. However, we would like doors with a height of 2.30 m (7 feet 6 inches) or 2.50 m (8 feet 2 inches) and unfortunately can’t find any pricing anywhere.

Has anyone installed doors like these, possibly even in white lacquer with a flush design, and can give us an indication of the cost?

Thanks in advance!

Good evening,

There are certainly plenty of suppliers available; for example, Herholz®, Prüm®, Grauhoff®, Jeld-Wen®, Garant®, and many more.

An interior door of 2.30 or even 2.50 meters (7 ft 7 in or 8 ft 2 in) is a size that goes beyond standard dimensions; accordingly, the price reflects this. If a typical interior door with frame costs around €300.00, the price increases for flush doors (without visible hinges) and even more for custom sizes. I would estimate starting from around €460.00.

A good alternative is to inquire with a local timber merchant or carpenter.

Then there is the choice of butt joint type: plain butt, rebated butt, or double rebated butt. Also, the door leaf options: honeycomb core, tubular strip core, tubular block core, or solid core. Additionally, the frame system and the handle set...

Depending on the selection, I would budget a price starting at around 700 euros.

I forgot to mention in my reply that the price is per door leaf; sorry!

You can easily spend a fortune on interior doors.

For example, we paid €380.00 per smooth hollow-core door (CPL finish) including frames and handles from a specialist retailer; more expensive than usual because the frames in an old building are all different sizes. I need a glass door for a beautiful and approximately 80-year-old wooden door frame; narrower and significantly taller than standard. Don’t ask....

If you want to order something like this online, where would you do it?

We installed Grauhoff doors upstairs, but for the granny flat, they are definitely too expensive. For 3 doors, one of which is a climate zone 2 door, 1900 euros is definitely too much.

I also got a quote from Hornbach, but the doors feel cheap.
Bauhaus was even more expensive at 2000 euros because of custom sizes, according to the salesperson, which I don’t believe.

The rough opening in our basement measures 2130 x 880 millimeters (84 x 35 inches).
