ᐅ Does an angled extractor hood provide sufficient ventilation?

Hello,

We are currently looking into the topic of range hoods.
I am quite tall (1.85m / 6 ft 1 in), and when cooking, I am often bothered by the standard wall-mounted hoods because they are usually installed at a height of 1.80m (5 ft 11 in) or lower.
Now we are considering an angled range hood, but I have heard some negative feedback that the front panels are not adequately ventilated.
Do you have any experience with these? Maybe they have improved?

Thank you very much for your opinions!

We definitely want a Siemens range hood since all the other appliances will also be from Siemens.
I have also heard about the issue with dripping water vapor.
Otherwise, the experiences here seem very positive, and we will probably choose a slanted hood.

I don’t understand the context?

I do. It's not a factual matter. Others put a question mark after a statement? That is also understandable and not something to be explained factually.

We simply want to have everything from one company to maintain a consistent design style and user experience.

We originally planned to go with Siemens as well, due to a long-standing connection, even though we haven’t worked there for a long time 😀 but by now we are a bit more flexible. For example, the oven will be Neff because of the Slide-and-Hide feature. The induction cooktop will be Bosch, as I prefer the design there. The technology underneath is almost identical for all three brands.

For the same reason, we also bought everything from Siemens. Everything is uniform already.

I have a slanted hood and am satisfied with its suction power. Above all, it is very easy to clean.

You didn’t specifically ask for experiences with the other appliances, but maybe it helps someone with their purchase decision.

With the other appliances (Siemens IQ700 series) oven and microwave, it bothers me a lot that fingerprints are constantly visible on the stainless steel. My sister has AEG appliances in her kitchen from 12 years ago, and even those have an "anti-fingerprint" surface.

Having to press "stop" first on the oven to change the heating mode, then use the right arrow key to select the temperature, and finally set it with the dial—I’ve gotten used to it by now... The microwave is the same process for temperature settings.

The original baking trays warp in the oven, even if you preheat them. I don’t find that very good either. The baking results (like pizza, bread, or cakes) are uneven; one side is always more baked than the other.

We chose a built-in 80cm (31.5 inch) ceramic cooktop from the series. It feels like it takes quite long to get really powerful heat. I probably should have gone for induction instead...

These are my experiences after about three years.

I have always had Siemens appliances before, but the latest ones are just not what Siemens used to be. Next time, I will look at other brands.
