ᐅ Does an angled extractor hood provide sufficient ventilation?

Hello,

We are currently looking into the topic of range hoods.
I am quite tall (1.85m / 6 ft 1 in), and when cooking, I am often bothered by the standard wall-mounted hoods because they are usually installed at a height of 1.80m (5 ft 11 in) or lower.
Now we are considering an angled range hood, but I have heard some negative feedback that the front panels are not adequately ventilated.
Do you have any experience with these? Maybe they have improved?

Thank you very much for your opinions!

With the other appliances (Siemens IQ700 series) oven and microwave, it really annoys me that fingerprints are constantly visible on the stainless steel.

There is a stainless steel oil available at DM. Apply a very thin layer once, and you’re good for six months.

Six months? How often do you handle your appliances?

So far, I haven’t found any product that lasts longer than 3 days. We cook every day and also for the whole family on weekends.

Cleaning itself is not the issue; I wonder why it even has to come to that.

I am a heavy user of the kitchen. The stainless steel refrigerator gets touched several times a day. The oven is used at least every other day.

If it only lasts three days for you, something is wrong. Once oiled, it stays good for a very long time.

Don’t forget to wash your hands – if I handle everything right after shaping meat patties, I also get greasy fingerprints everywhere. Just as an extreme example...

It often depends on what the manufacturer uses. Pure stainless steel without a protective coating is a nightmare. However, there is also stainless steel with a protective coating available. This is quite unproblematic. Refrigerator surfaces often look like brushed stainless steel, but they actually use brushed aluminum with a protective coating. This surface is completely unproblematic.

If it is genuine stainless steel, then it is not a problem. However, if a magnet still sticks to it, you might as well leave the cleaning cloth outside.
