Hello everyone,

I have a question. My plot is designated as WA 2.

In the development plan, the following is stated:

Excerpt of a building regulation text regarding parking spaces and non-buildable areas

Am I allowed to build a carport or not? If not, what am I allowed to build instead?

Does this have to be within the building plot?

A house without a carport or garage somehow seems not quite practical.

Hopefully, someone can help.

Best regards

Probably not – have you already bought it??

Hello,

I haven’t bought anything yet.

But I have also read that for some carports, a building permit / planning permission is not required. Is that correct?

What can I build in that case?

Best regards

The best approach is to call the local municipality or building authority directly and ask. They are approachable and it is the quickest way to get information.

This has nothing to do with a building permit / planning permission – if it is not allowed in the area, then it simply isn’t allowed. Of course, you can apply for a building permit / planning permission, and usually the neighbors will be consulted – but I can already guess their response.

Maybe it’s a car-free zone? We have something strange like that here too – where you’re not even allowed to drive in with a car.

Point 9 clearly states that a carport and garage are not allowed.
Point 8 states that additional parking spaces can be created if they allow rainwater to pass through. Basically, something like grass pavers with holes or similar.
