Hello Markus,

For floor plans and storage planning, I have always used Microsoft Visio. The features are quite extensive, and you can accomplish a lot with it. The operation is straightforward and easy to understand. However, I cannot say for sure how it handles 3D graphics, like in your example.

The view I posted was just an idea; I actually want to draw every wall and include sockets, switches, windows, etc. It would also be helpful to add measurements showing where the cables run, because in 50 years, I won’t remember where each cable is located. Maybe someone can help me with this now.

Simply take a photo from various angles of each room and cable. It’s best to include a measuring tape or ruler in the picture. It doesn’t get easier than that, and it provides more information later than a thousand plans. Our electrician did this for us. Then, for added safety, use a cable locator device afterward. That way, nothing goes wrong.
