Hi,
how much did your meter cabinets for the electrical equipment cost?
We just received the electrician’s quote, and the cabinet itself alone is supposed to cost €895 (without components). The total quote for the house amounts to €53,000 gross…

Sounds overall very expensive. Are there gold electrical wires or something similar installed? A multi-family house? KNX?

At €53,000, this will not be a standard installation; the distribution board (I assume this is what you mean by "electrical stuff," as the meter cabinet only contains the main fuses and meters...) will also be somewhat larger.
Mine also cost around €900, and it is a freestanding cabinet with a height of 2 meters (6.6 feet).

Exactly, I meant the meter cabinet.

True, that’s definitely not standard. Still, it’s impressive what adds up there.
It’s a very large single-family house plus basement, exterior sockets, electric shutters, alarm system, satellite system, video intercom, and high-end fittings (for example, eight sockets already planned in the children’s room) with many outlets, numerous telephone and TV connections.
We still need to go through what we actually need, and this is just the first offer without any negotiation yet.

Hello, our large control cabinet cost 500€ net directly from the wholesaler. I don’t think 800€ through the electrician is too expensive.
With a few extras, I believe you can quickly reach around 53,000€ (about 58,000 USD). There are definitely some great options. Whether you really need them is another question.

Without a bus system.
As mentioned, it’s a large house (almost 400m² (4,300 sq ft) including the basement).
Eight power outlets aren’t many in the kids’ room; I think we will add more. But it’s still more than what is usually included in a standard initial offer.
We will review everything this weekend and roughly decide what we really want.
I believe we also have wiring, so the satellite system is already excluded. I don’t want an alarm system right away, but we can at least lay the cables for it.
In summary, the following costs are listed:

I. Meter panel and main line €4,731.98
II. Equipotential bonding €385.00
III. Installation in living areas €15,351.41
IV. Additional cost for switch materials €781.00
V. Installation in garages €1,429.15
VI. Video door intercom system €3,351.93
“Alternative offer” €2,479.73
VII. Satellite reception system €1,553.99
VIII. Data technology €560.65
IX. Additional cost for roller shutter central control €3,134.74
X. Installation of alarm system wiring €3,101.00
XI. Installation of the alarm system €8,896.34
