It all starts with an idea—and now I need a little help 🙂
In my place of residence, there is a former commercial unit on the ground floor (a bank branch) in a 6-family residential building (built in 1992, solid construction, good condition) for sale. The branch was closed a few months ago.
Now it’s being advertised as convertible back into an apartment. The gross floor area is 122 m2 (1,313 sq ft). As far as I know, the commercial space only has a typical counter with glazing and a restroom. So, no walls need to be torn down and no new structural calculations are required, which means you can creatively design a nice floor plan. Of course, new floor and wall coverings, plumbing, kitchen, etc. will be needed...
What do you think? Is this feasible? Having the freedom to choose the floor plan is definitely an advantage.
It’s offered at a bargain price for our area.
Is there an approximate cost per m2 (sq ft) for renovation that I should expect?
Thanks for your opinions...
Best regards, Rückbauerr
