Good morning everyone,
a quick question for those of you with more experience in homebuilding.
Our house is basically finished, only the defect repairs on the windows are still pending.
One issue, which I’m still discussing with the window manufacturer, concerns the paint peeling at the corners of the window sashes (I attached a picture).
Our windows are laminated, and the edges of the profiles are welded and tinted.
Due to the rubber seal on the window frame, the tint is coming off at the corners.
The window frames are made directly by the window manufacturer. According to them, this is not a defect, but a normal variation in the production process that can be fixed with a paint pen, and that this procedure has been agreed upon with Fa. Weka.
I asked my window manufacturer if this (assuming these are normal production variations) is a common problem with all window manufacturers. Their answer was that there are production-specific variations at their company.
Are you familiar with such problems? And is this really a defect? Or am I just being too picky?
Best regards,
Crimson

No one will notice in 2 years anyway

Sorry, that got lost a bit.
He is giving me the touch-up paint for free, which he considered a matter of course.
My main concern is whether it will last permanently. The windows have been installed since summer 2018 and were not regularly opened during the construction phase (meaning the paint shouldn’t have come loose due to frequent movement).
If you have to touch up all four corners of the windows every six months because the paint is peeling, that would be very frustrating.

If you have to touch up all four corners of the windows every six months because the paint flakes off, that’s more than frustrating.A bit unrealistic... Of course, something like that can fade over time. So if you notice it, just touch it up.
It’s unlikely you’ll see every little scratch everywhere in two years.
To me, that’s normal wear and tear.
