Yesssssssssssssssssss, finally we will get rid of the expensive pink giant after the new build.

Confirmed for June 15 next year, just in time for the nice Christmas offers.

Which provider would you recommend, and is it better to switch on June 15 or choose the date one week earlier because of the new connection?

There are quite a few comparison websites out there. I think the most important factor when switching is knowing what you want. Just internet service, an affordable package that combines mobile phone, internet, and maybe TV all together... and how you plan to use it.

Personally, I am a 1&1 customer because at that time I found the cheapest package with internet flat rate + fixed-line phone flat rate + 2 mobile phones (each also with internet and phone flat rates), where all calls between mobile and fixed line were also free of charge. So far, I have consistently received the maximum available bandwidth without any issues across all channels. The service was excellent, and the HSPA stick was included for free, allowing me to start browsing just one day after ordering. For my new build at the time, I also took the basic Telekom contract (without any extras), which had a minimum contract term of only one week, so you get a number/connection quickly and can switch easily.

The real question is what you want, and then you should compare the options that are available.

After the big pink company itself failed to send the mail to our previous apartment via the “customer service hotline,” I withdrew from the contract I had signed at that time.

Afterwards, I signed a contract with 1&1. When switching, I properly provided a referral and we split the 100 Euro reward.

I received a detailed information brochure (including a nameplate, etc.) about the next steps, and shortly after, the new router arrived.

I was reminded twice in advance about the scheduled technician appointment. The technician’s visit was then exactly on time (the Telekom(!) technician called half an hour before the planned appointment to say he would arrive in 30 minutes). The setup itself only took about 5 minutes.

Since then, the connection has been running at full speed. The provided Fritz Box is adequate (note: cheaper plans sometimes come with lower-quality devices).

Based on my experience so far, the service at 1&1 is better than at Telekom. Plus, it’s 5 Euro cheaper per month (even 18 Euro cheaper during the first 12 months). ==> works for me.

We have now signed the follow-up DSL contract with 02. In the rental apartment, we never had any issues with 02/Alice. Unfortunately, they were unable to transfer the DSL connection to the new apartment at that time (address unknown).

We have been with 1&1 for years. The connection was relocated to the new building without any issues and no loss in speed.
