Yesssssssssssssssssss, finally we will get rid of the expensive pink giant after the new build.
Confirmed for June 15 next year, just in time for the nice Christmas offers.
Which provider would you recommend, and is it better to switch on June 15 or choose the date one week earlier because of the new connection?

We have cable DSL with Unitymedia. We are very satisfied with both the speed (200,000) and the stability, as we have not experienced any outages in 4 years. The price of just under 50 euros is also reasonable; this includes 3 landline numbers and 2 telephone lines (with unlimited calls).
We would also like to have the cables installed afterward, as we are still in the shell construction phase. But since commissioning at the beginning of August and following up twice, the empty conduit is still in place without anyone getting back to us. Since the merger with UM, it has really become a mess...

Doc.Schnaggls14 Dec 2015 09:23Hello,
we have had very positive experiences with Rosa Riese.
Our house connection could not be installed by the utility company because our service line was still a really "antique" model with paper insulation (!!!).
The telecommunications provider then responded very promptly and installed the connection directly into the house.
After we moved in, it unfortunately turned out that this "antique" service line had a kink, which repeatedly caused DSL dropouts and buzzing noise interference on the phone line.
The provider then sent a measurement team, who found that the kink was still on our property, and two days later an excavator arrived to dig up the line and replace the damaged section.
This whole process did not cost us anything, even though it was not entirely clear who caused the kink – we found this very accommodating.
For the past three weeks, we have also had the long-awaited upgrade to DSL with 25 Mbit as well as an additional phone line and two more phone numbers activated.
Best regards,
Dirk

We are with 1&1. The price is okay, the service quality is also acceptable, but the customer support when something goes wrong is really poor.
Before and during the construction, I spent hours, if not days, on the service hotline and with the technician because we had an outage in our old apartment while trying to manage the move to the new build at the same time.
The lines belong to Telekom, and whenever there is an issue, no one seems to communicate properly, with one party blaming the other.
We had a Telekom technician come to the house four times. Only the fourth technician was able, after weeks, to determine that the main line to the house was damaged by a lightning strike. This was shortly before the move.
For the new house, none of the 1&1 staff could ever confirm whether we could get DSL. At the same time, they wouldn’t let us out of the old contract. 🙁
In the end, everything worked out.

1und1 is good until you cancel.
My experience!
I canceled through the online portal and sent a fax confirmation back in 2007. The line was dead as of October 31. Switching to o2 was not possible because the line was still held by 1und1. Suddenly, at the end of December, I received a bill for 10 euros for a move. I called immediately to ask what that was about. They said on the phone that I had just moved :-) I explained that this was not the case. Then one month of silence, and suddenly another reminder for December arrived. It went so far that by July I had a claim of 180 euros from Credirefom.
In the meantime, I was always in contact with 1und1. Unfortunately, the only proof I had was the fax confirmation.
Given how much went wrong with that company at the time, I wasn’t surprised that a PR campaign appeared on TV shortly afterwards.
