ᐅ central roller shutter control system

I wanted to gather some ideas on how you have solved your roller shutter control or if you even have one at all.

We are building an urban villa with a granny flat. For the granny flat, simple switches near the windows are sufficient for me; for the upper floor of the villa, switches installed below the light switch by the door would also be enough.

In the basement, I would prefer a more centralized system with a timer. My ideal solution was actually a wall-mounted display from elero or Becker, but those options are quite expensive. It is important to me to have a function that lowers all roller shutters in the basement when leaving the house.

I don’t like remote controls because you probably end up constantly looking for them, and they don’t look good either. I also don’t want to control the shutters via an app. I would consider having switches at every window plus a central timer—preferably wireless—that also allows lowering all shutters at once with a simple push of a button.

Question: Why do you want to lower all the roller shutters when leaving the house? During the day, that clearly shows that no one is home.

Anyone planning to break in isn’t really concerned about whether the shutters are open or closed—that’s all monitored anyway. They often know better than you when you’re home or not. If everything is closed, no one can look through the windows to see what’s inside. Plus, the shutter adds an extra obstacle that must be overcome. It also saves energy in winter and helps keep the house cool in summer 😉

If you want it to be simple, I would recommend radio motors. Otherwise, with cables, just use multiple isolator relays or switches with built-in isolator relays.

I have already looked into that as well, will the switches remain? But can you also operate all the roller shutters at once without a phone?

Yes, that should work (although I don’t have it myself).
