We are looking for a fly screen / insect screen for our patio door and windows that can also be opened and slid to the side (pleated or roller type). It is important that the screen is scratch-resistant from cats.

So far, I have not been able to find anything like this.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you in advance

Our male cats will get a large outdoor enclosure, as it would be far too expensive to secure the entire garden. So far, none of them have climbed up the balcony net, and the slats on the door to the balcony have been ignored. I just hope that a pleated door to the garden will hold up here 😉

We also have a cat with epilepsy who needs medication every 8 hours, so I definitely couldn't let him outside…

Hello, we have this cat grille:

Open balcony door; balcony with planter boxes, cat on red carpet, view of green rolling hills.

White window frame with insect screen, Reflexa logo visible.

It was important to me that it wouldn’t get in the way when open. It was quite expensive and needs to be handled with care, but it works pretty well.

At first, the tomcat tried once to get through and failed, but got quite tangled up.
At that time, I thought, “Well, this won’t last long.”
That was a few years ago and it seems to have been the only attempt.
We also always open it for him whenever he wants.

He sharpens his claws somewhere else.

@ateliersiegel Do you happen to remember which type of mesh was installed for you? We would like to have the exact same kind that can be slid open 🙂

I don’t know the specific name.

It is relatively rigid and has maintained its shape (for about 5 years).
