Hello
We are planning to buy the Biohort Avantgarde A8 garden shed.
At the moment, the window element is included for free.
Does anyone here have experience with the window element from Biohort?
Would you recommend it?
If the window is open and it starts to rain, would water come in directly, or is it designed so that nothing happens at first?

- The window tilts outward and downward – if rain manages to get inside through that, then it’s deserved
- It definitely lets in more light
- You can ventilate more easily, especially if a mouse has died somewhere and you want to get rid of the smell
- In an emergency, you can even put something in front of it – as mentioned, the window opens outward That definitely makes sense.
We are now leaning towards the window as well.
That is probably the best option.
We will also install lighting in the future. We had an empty conduit for electricity installed in the foundation so that we can later pull in an underground cable using a pull wire.
I recently went pallet hunting again, and someone had posted that they just had a Biohort delivered (I’m not sure which model). Two men were assembling it and were swearing like crazy. The walls were thin and shaky, and apparently it was a Sisyphean task to line up the parts properly. I still wouldn’t recommend a metal garden shed (unless it’s a decommissioned office, construction, or shipping container).
For that size, I would also include a window if it’s an option.

We find the garden shed visually appealing and appreciate that it is completely maintenance-free.
A friend has the same garden shed (slightly smaller), and we were satisfied with the quality (his version did not have windows).

Jesse Custer10 Jun 2024 10:38It seems like two real professionals did the assembly – of course, these aren’t 5mm (0.2 inch) thick steel plates, but I managed to put together our large Storemax completely without any issues, with my elderly father acting as the holding assistant. Everything fit perfectly – and if it didn’t fit, it was assembled incorrectly.
I just showed my wife the Avantgarde mentioned here, which will be coming soon as well.
I can only recommend Biohort.

Biohort is well-known and relatively expensive. Therefore, I assume they are better than a discount product from Thomas Philips or something similar.
I cannot assess the skill level of the installers, but I can very well imagine that mistakes can be made there as well.
However, the fact that this is even possible already means something...

Jesse Custer10 Jun 2024 14:21The question is: What does it mean?
I always say: Let’s leave out all the warnings for two years — and then we’ll get together again and see what has happened by then.
The user manual of our Biohort didn’t have to hide next to an Ikea manual (and in this case, those are the amateurs).
