My architect suggested installing the bathtub in the bedroom due to limited space in the main bathroom with the shower. However, I am concerned about potential moisture damage (wooden house, Minergie standard).

Does anyone have relevant experience or ideas regarding this?

I once saw this at friends’ place in a small apartment in Berlin and found it quite unusual. Regarding moisture: of course, they also had to be careful that nothing overflowed and that they didn’t get anything wet when stepping out, etc. Would you possibly have the option to create a separate room in the basement?

The idea of placing the bathtub in the bedroom keeps coming up in discussions. Not only due to space constraints but also because it’s supposed to be modern.
Personally, I’m not in favor of it.
Especially if you don’t live alone, it feels a bit strange for my wife to bathe in the bedroom.
When there are children around, it’s even more unusual.
You don’t have to follow every trend. For me, a bathtub belongs in the bathroom or possibly in the basement where the washing machines are located.

Hello Badenixe,
your name suggests that you enjoy spending a long time in the bathtub?
If so, keep in mind that if you place the bathtub in the bedroom, other family members will also need to be okay with it.
This might be a good idea if you have a house with several bathrooms.
Then you could use the bathtub in the bedroom just for yourself.
As a (somewhat older) child, I wouldn’t have wanted to bathe like that.

Best regards, Gerda

Nowadays, anything is possible, but a bathtub in the bedroom? No, that’s not for me. They would walk through the bedroom to use the bathroom. I also see the risk of high humidity.

I like this idea, and if I imagine going straight from the bed to the bathtub, that could appeal to me. There are quite a few measures you can take against moisture.
