ᐅ Bathroom accessible from two sides – What type of locking system?

Hello everyone. So far, I’ve been an active reader and today I’m posting my first message:
In our floor plans, we have planned a bathroom on the ground floor that can be accessed both from the inside and from the terrace.
The reason is that we want to build a pool in the garden and need an option to use the restroom or the shower without dripping water through the house.
What we are wondering is whether it’s possible to have both locks engage simultaneously when closing one door. Even better would be if the lock could be set so that the door naturally remains locked from the outside when I enter the bathroom from inside and also when I leave it, so that at night there isn’t an easy access point for unwanted guests.
I hope it’s clear what I mean. It’s a bit complicated to explain.

Since it is an exterior door, you need to consider the security level and also the cost of your front door.
Additionally, a motorized lock… If you already have a true smart home system and a sufficient budget, this can be done.
But the floor plan is not really well designed anyway.
Install an outdoor shower or solar shower. Quickly dry off and then go straight to the toilet.
Or have enough disinfectant in the pool :p

This bathroom can also simply have a patio door. And when using the pool, someone just needs to open the patio door from the inside once, so it can then be opened from the outside. You can close the interior door if you want while using it, but since it’s not a public bathroom, there won’t be heavy use from both inside and outside. At the end of the day, the patio door will be locked from the inside again, just like the patio door in the living room.

That was my first thought as well. Or aren’t there even patio doors that can be locked from the outside?

Our house will be located at the edge of a forest, and our patio door will face that direction. I wanted to be able to take the dog into the woods without having to go through the front door.
There is a system from Abus, called HomeTec Pro. It’s quite bulky and unattractive, but it does exist.
The idea of electrically synchronized door locks makes sense for bathrooms located inside the house that have more than one door. But in this case, you can simply unlock the lock on the outer door when the pool is in use. If someone then enters from outside, just lock the inner door. It’s really no problem.
I wouldn’t plan a front door there, more likely a standard patio door.
