What do you recommend for a patio door?
Swing door, lift-and-slide door, parallel sliding-tilt door.

Width: approx. 2 m (6.5 ft)

What would be the clear opening width for sliding doors with a total width of 2 m (6.5 ft)?

Hello,

Sliding or lift-and-slide doors, in my opinion, make little sense for a passage width of 2.00 m (6 ft 7 in). Compared to a French door, this reduces your clear opening to 1.00 m (3 ft 3 in)!

Hello,

I also believe that sliding doors don’t make sense with a total door element width of 2 m (6.5 ft).

In that case, it’s better to choose a double-leaf door, as @Bauexperte already mentioned.

A sliding door really doesn’t make sense at 2 m (6.6 feet). We have a 2.50 m (8.2 feet) sliding door, and I just measured—the opening with the door fully open is only about 1.10 m (3.6 feet). For 2 m (6.6 feet), I would choose a double-leaf patio door.

What are the price differences between French doors / sliding doors and tilt-and-slide doors?

Approximately how much more do sliding doors cost?

I am planning to install 2m x 2m (6 ft 7 in x 6 ft 7 in) patio doors. I do have enough space for double doors, but I find it a bit inconvenient that something always protrudes into the room. Are there other advantages to double doors? How do they compare in terms of price?

Thanks in advance.
