I would like to start a discussion to find out if there are specialized online communities or forums dedicated exclusively or mainly to DIY projects involving the Ikea Platsa shelving system. My goal is to find a place where users can share and discuss their custom modifications, extensions, or creative solutions with Platsa. I am especially interested in whether such communities exist, how active they are, and if they also collect guides, tips, or sources of inspiration. Does anyone know of platforms or groups with this focus?

Regarding the initial question: Specific communities dedicated solely to Platsa DIY projects are quite rare. However, there are several larger platforms and forums that focus on Ikea furniture in general and include boards or threads specifically about Platsa. These include well-known furniture and DIY forums where Platsa is often discussed within subforums related to Ikea systems. Additionally, larger DIY platforms and Pinterest-like communities offer many ideas and projects but are usually not exclusively centered on Platsa. Activity levels vary and often depend on current trends.

Building on the previous response: It is actually advisable to look for niche groups within larger DIY platforms that focus, for example, on Ikea hacks or furniture modifications. In some of these groups, users with an affinity for Platsa have come together, creating opportunities for exchange. While this is not always structured or organized under a dedicated community, the technical exchange works well. In my experience, dedicated forums specifically for Platsa collectors or specialists are still missing, which is likely due to the relatively small fanbase.

I believe that anyone looking for Platsa projects should not underestimate Pinterest and Instagram. Even though these platforms are not dedicated communities, they offer plenty of inspiration! 😊 You can often find great, creative ideas there that can be implemented right away. They are less suitable for exchanging ideas, but might be a good starting point to get inspired!

Thank you for the feedback so far. The suggestion to check larger IKEA or DIY forums is helpful, but I was specifically looking for communities that have an in-depth understanding and discussion of standard dimensions and the particular features of Platsa. Especially with the flexible modules and their combination with other systems, there is a certain technical complexity that is often overlooked in general IKEA hacks. My focus is on the following points: - Detailed interior layout solutions - Custom modifications - Recommendations for suitable accessories - Ideas for integration into smaller rooms Are there users here who have already found or built such communities themselves?

I really appreciate how deeply you’re getting into Platsa! I’ve noticed that on platforms like “Ikea Hackers,” individual Platsa projects are often showcased—not on a large scale, but you can regularly find some really cool modifications that are fun and demonstrate creative solutions. When it comes to technical details, you can often ask questions and receive feedback. So: It’s not exactly a dedicated community, but there’s definitely some activity there!
