Hello, I have a question now. I often read about additional costs of up to 500 euros per month after building a house.

Why is this amount so high? There might be new items like insurance, but shared additional costs are also paid in a rental apartment, right?

Or am I missing something else? Thank you ☺️

...under municipal utilities, and we don’t even have a lawn yet :-p, so the amount is likely to increase.

Property tax, stormwater management, home insurance, reserve funds, electricity, maintenance, waste disposal, cable, gas,

especially reserve funds are always a topic with pros and cons

It should not be forgotten that in large housing developments, the costs are generally lower than for a single house. Everything is shared.

The property tax seems to be extremely different. We pay 588€ per year or 49€ per month for property tax, stormwater fees, and all waste disposal charges.
Our total additional costs amount to 305€.
We do not set aside monthly reserves for the house. We have an account with a certain amount X that we feel comfortable with.

So if you have an apartment with 100m² (1,076 sq ft) and then a house with 150m² (1,615 sq ft), you can roughly calculate using a factor of 1.5.
On top of that comes the maintenance of the outdoor area, which probably had less impact in the apartment.

With 300€ you are already not too far off, more or less.

Well... it always depends on what is included in the additional costs for the apartment. For example, in our case, just the elevator, building superintendent, and hallway cleaning cost nearly 90 euros per month for 6 units.
Those costs will be eliminated in the future...
so it always depends on the individual case and personal habits.

@Zaba12 you only pay 44€ per month for internet? oops:
What about TV, streaming services, etc.?

I also estimate 500€ monthly additional costs for a 200sqm (2,150 sq ft) house with an air-to-water heat pump
