Hello, I have a question now. I often read about additional costs of up to 500 euros per month after building a house.

Why is this amount so high? There might be new items like insurance, but shared additional costs are also paid in a rental apartment, right?

Or am I missing something else? Thank you ☺️

35€ for a quarter of property tax sounds more like the amount for an empty plot without a building
For the previous year, when the construction was not yet completed, they charged something around... 25€??? approximately for the whole year. As I said, I was completely surprised, I would have expected at least three times that amount, but this is exactly the sum they just debited today for the second quarter... Last year, I filled out a related questionnaire for the tax office concerning the building. Their notice also referred to that.

@Zaba12 You only pay 44€ per month for internet? oops:
What about TV, streaming services, etc.?

I’m also estimating 500€ for additional costs on a 200m² (2,150 sq ft) house with an air-to-water heat pump.

We pay 19.99€ per month for a 20 Mbps Vodafone internet connection.
We don’t need a phone line.
Plus 6.75€ for Prime.

That’s it. So 27€ per month, that should be enough.

Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. are not housing-related utility costs; they are consumer expenses. These can be started or stopped immediately or on a monthly basis. TV is received via satellite.

The property tax topic will become interesting depending on how the states implement it.
For us, the land with the old house/barn (over 100 years old) cost about €79 in property tax per year.
After demolition, we now pay nearly €90 for the "empty" plot.
Once the house is completed, we will probably have to pay around €8,000 (according to the old regulation).
Totally ridiculous. The land hasn’t increased in value.

I also don’t understand why property tax should depend on the type of house on the land. The idea seems to be: If someone could afford an expensive/large house, then they can pay more property tax...
