I will be moving soon and own several Ikea Brimnes furniture pieces, including beds, wardrobes, and dressers. My question is: How can I quickly and easily get rid of these Brimnes items, either by selling or disposing of them, so they won’t be a burden during my move? I’m mainly looking for efficient ways to find buyers at short notice or alternatives for disposal if selling takes too long. Are there proven methods, recommended platforms, or practical tips on the best way to get rid of Brimnes furniture? The condition is good, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time or effort.

Sell the furniture directly online on platforms like eBay Classifieds. Clearly state in the title "ready for immediate pickup," as this attracts people who want to buy right away.

I recommend describing the condition of the furniture clearly and honestly, preferably with photos. Also, set the price slightly below the average – this increases the chance of a quick response. At the same time, you can offer the furniture in local online flea market groups. Make sure to allow for pickup, as deliveries usually delay the sale.

Thanks for the tips so far! One more important detail: the Brimnes furniture is partly disassembled but relatively heavy. Should I mention this when selling? How does it affect the chances of sale? Would it be better to offer it fully assembled, or do the individual parts sell better?

Yes, you should definitely mention this. Many buyers are more willing to pick up furniture if it is already disassembled because it makes transportation easier.

- Disassembled means: easier to carry, quicker to load.
- Fully assembled furniture allows immediate use but is harder to transport.

A good compromise is to specify whether the furniture is disassembled or securely assembled—this way, potential buyers know what to expect early on.

If the furniture is quite heavy, that might make pickup more difficult. If you have helpers, feel free to mention that as a bonus.

Great that you’re already thinking of everything! I had Brimnes dressers and sold them within two days through a local group.

A small tip: Mention in the listing that the furniture is available for immediate pickup – this speeds up the response time!

Good luck, it goes quickly if you stay on top of it! 🙂
