Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Brimnes bed from IKEA and noticed upon unpacking that some essential parts are missing. Before continuing the entire assembly process, I would like to know the best way to proceed when parts are missing from the IKEA BRIMNES.

How can I efficiently get the missing parts as quickly as possible? Do I have to return to the IKEA store in person, or can I order replacement parts directly online? What information is needed to order replacement parts (e.g., article number, proof of purchase)? Are there any special tips on how to contact IKEA regarding missing parts?

I would appreciate any experiences, checklists, or specific advice on how this process works. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello daemin,

to efficiently obtain missing parts for the IKEA BRIMNES, I recommend the following approach:

- Write down the exact item number of the furniture and the missing parts (preferably using the names from the assembly instructions).
- Keep photos of the instructions and packaging ready in case any questions arise.
- First, check IKEA’s online service for ordering replacement parts, which you can find on the IKEA website under “Customer Service” > “Replacement Parts.”
- There, you can usually order missing parts by providing the item number and description, often free of charge if you present the purchase receipt.
- If ordering online is not possible or you don’t receive confirmation, it is best to visit or contact by phone the nearest IKEA store.
- Have your purchase receipt or invoice number ready, as this is usually required when ordering replacement parts.

This way, you can avoid unnecessary trips and get exactly what you need.

I hope this helps you.

I want to emphasize this again – sometimes the staff at the store are really quick and can help you right on the spot.

Once, I was missing a pack of screws for the BRIMNES wardrobe, and a quick call to customer service was enough to arrange picking up the pack the next day.

So: if you’re in a hurry, it’s better to call and explain the situation clearly; usually, it gets sorted quickly. Hope your assembly goes smoothly and without any stress!

Daemin, I understand how frustrating it is when parts are suddenly missing during assembly. You have already dedicated the whole day, and then you’re left standing there.

A small recommendation from my experience: Always keep the receipt or invoice saved digitally – these are often required for replacement parts deliveries, especially with IKEA.

Even if it can be tiring, stay polite and as precise as possible when describing the issue, because that helps much more than frustration. The staff want to help – but sometimes it just takes the right tone and the correct information for things to move quickly.

I hope everything gets resolved quickly and am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I completely agree with this. Additionally, I recommend having all relevant information ready when contacting customer service (model name, item number, detailed description of the missing parts). This significantly speeds up the process.

It can also help to specifically request a replacement part delivery and ask about the expected delivery times if timing is critical.

Sometimes it is possible to pick up missing parts for free directly from the store; therefore, calling or visiting in person is always worthwhile.
