I am honestly shocked right now. Our construction company just informed me that they want 21.4% more money due to price increases in the building industry. At the moment, I am still stunned and can’t think clearly.

For your construction project, it is now 21.4% higher.
Someone asked if the increase refers only to one part, e.g. the roof. @hampshire?
I clearly read it as an average, so 21.4% across everything.

Wasn’t it contractually specified how price increases are allowed after the fixed price period?

I’m afraid you have no legal means to contest this price increase.

Or where is the flaw in the reasoning?
With the force majeure that the general contractor refers to.

Not Kampa. The general contractor was recently described positively in the moderated subforum.

As far as I know, after 1.5 years from the start, Corona can no longer be generally considered as "force majeure." At least not across the board.

Keitel-Haus?

It must be incredibly funny and entertaining to have someone guess something here when you already know the answer 😀

He did not mention Corona in the letter, but that his contractual partners canceled the contracts/terms with him. Something like that. Please check it yourself.

For some products, previously agreed terms were canceled in the meantime. They are referring to "force majeure" / higher force.
