I am honestly shocked right now. Our construction company just informed me that they want 21.4% more money due to price increases in the building industry. At the moment, I am still stunned and can’t think clearly.

I really don't believe it (to quote Mr. Kerkeling). That was exactly my first thought, so I have to agree with 11ant. Unless the contractual situation is 100% clear, I wouldn’t pay another cent out of goodwill.
It’s nice that you’re happy about it, and I don’t want to spoil that for you. If you’re willing and able to live with it, that’s your decision. But for me, the 3x 0.6% price increases would be acceptable... assuming that this was properly reflected in the contract.
