It’s shown with me. These are not hypothetical values. The calculations are based on my actual data, meaning the feed-in tariff and the electricity supplier price.Yes, but the discussion was about no self-consumption. And my values are not made up. The idea that larger systems and especially self-consumption may be worthwhile depending on the requirements is valid. Still, you tend to get better returns with electricity premiums and funds. To reassure everyone, I will also install a photovoltaic system next year. However, not for economic reasons, but for ecological ones. 🙂

You still get a better deal with electricity subsidies and funds. I had no benefit from that. In 2015, I invested in individual stocks. The portfolio is still at nearly -22,000 in realized losses. That’s why, as I always say, I prefer making extra repayments over relying on fund managers here.

But you’re right, you only talked about feed-in tariffs, that’s true.

I never said you should gamble like in a casino and invest your entire fortune in Wirecard 😀

It all started with Facebook at around 29€ per share (about $31) at some point. I should have held on.

So, at least 20 years. Any evidence to the contrary? Read my post. In December, 10kW systems were priced at €11,500 (about $11,500). Currently, prices are lower. A friend was offered a 10.6kW system this week for €11,000 (same technology). That equals about 15 years without self-consumption.
Working from home, an electric car, and normal self-consumption can significantly reduce that time. Six years is possible.

Home office, electric car, and normal self-consumption can reduce the payback period significantly. Six years is possible. I am really happy for you and your friend. My cheapest offer was for 7.2 kWp at €9,000 net (approximately $9,000). Below that price, there was no chance in our region; other offers were sometimes significantly higher.
