Hello everyone,
As mentioned above, we want to get a robotic lawn mower to start the spring season.
Which ones do you use, recommend, or avoid, and why?
Does it have to be a Husqvarna, or is a Worx also good enough? Why one and not the other?
I’m very interested in hearing about your experiences.
Best regards
Tarnari

An advantage of Robomow is that it has a perimeter mowing function, meaning it first runs completely around the mowing edge. It does this very precisely, so no trimming along the edge is necessary. However, it is relatively loud.

Well, better get that treated if a lawn mower already drives you up the wall. There’s something wrong with your nerves then. The first five sessions are free; after that, the insurance has to approve it. K. The problem: It’s not just some lunatic with a device like that, and everyone mows at different times. This is serious noise pollution and therefore environmental damage. A law is needed so I can involve my lawyer 🙂. Fortunately, the hobby chainsaw foresters have now been banned from villages and confined to timber yards... it could be so nice otherwise.
But people usually mow between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and then again between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., at most 7 p.m. In the middle of the day. The world is not exactly silent like a graveyard then. And no one mows on Sundays either. These machines are quite quiet nowadays. I like the sound, along with the scent of freshly cut grass. That’s the smell of summer.

If I remember your garden layout correctly, the lawn area forms a U-shape around the house and terrace.
The best option would be a mower with two boundary wires. Four wheels are better than three. The station can be located either at/on the terrace (it can also be slightly off-center) or opposite the terrace. Could you please explain that again? Why not place the station at one end of the U-shape? (That's actually where we are planning it now, since power can easily be supplied there and the station would be outside the "main garden" area.)
The station should always have enough free space around it.
The station should not be placed in a narrow spot. Depending on how tight it is, even the minimum distances between the boundary and search cables might not be maintained.
Which mower do you plan to use? Download the installation manual to check it out 😉
With an installation like that, you risk it not working properly or only functioning with limitations.
At @Tarnari, the ends of the U are very narrow, so it's not a suitable installation point.
If your area is much wider, then installation there might be possible.

@rick2018 Thanks 🙂 Which model? Our house isn’t even built yet 😉;) But it’s clear that a robotic lawn mower will be used, and we were just discussing this during the electrical planning.
Our neighbors also have them about 90% of the time. So Gardena, Husqvarna, and Worx models are already running around here 😀
We have mowed our empty lot often enough "by hand"... enough mowing fun, even though it’s quite satisfying to see progress little by little :p.
The "end" where the base station is planned is the 3m (10 feet) building setback from the neighbor’s fence, minus some edge boundaries and splash zones around the house.
We’ll keep the tip about the installation manual in mind for a few months from now.
