My window installer ordered the wrong roller shutter boxes and has already installed them. I know I don’t have to accept this, but I’m worried that if he removes the windows, the wall edge strips won’t survive the removal. The boxes are not the correct depth and don’t align flush with the interior wall. The installer now wants to fill the gaps with polystyrene foam. Since the boxes already have an integrated plaster bead, it is now obviously too short.

Is there a way to extend the plaster bead so that the plasterer can work with it? Or are there other solutions to achieve a clean finish?

Hello,
negotiate a substantial discount and use Styrodur for additional insulation.
The render track will then be unnecessary anyway, and you'll need a new one.

Are there no extensions available for that?

I didn’t necessarily want to paint or wallpaper the lower edge.

Hello, what else then?
Or are the boxes made of such a high-quality material that they look good on their own?

Is the inspection opening on the bottom of the box?
