ᐅ Boiler doesn’t fit into the recess. What options are available?

Tx-25Hello. Our installer delivered a different boiler than originally planned. His justification is that otherwise the BAFA subsidy requirements would not be met. Additionally, the small boiler above in the niche was added as a result.
Unfortunately, the boiler no longer fits in the niche. However, the niche was not initially intended for the heating system anyway. The connections on the boiler are at the back. The boiler is exactly as wide as the niche. So the plumber cannot secure the pipes first and then slide the boiler into the niche. The pipes also cannot pass alongside the boiler because both are the same width.
What can we do? Are there flexible connections that can be screwed on first and then the boiler pushed halfway into the niche? Do you have other ideas? The plumber suggests the current location where it now stands.

The problem is that a sink also needs to be installed on the right wall. There’s only limited space between the boiler and the sink. So, the area in the niche and to the right of the boiler is practically wasted.
I just spoke with our installer again. He says it could work with flexible hoses, but they tend to leak quickly and clog up fast. Can you confirm this? We plan to have another call at 10:30.
Edit: Isn’t a water tank for an air-to-water heat pump generally quite large?
