Hello,

I would like to have Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire house.

Here is my plan:

- On the ground floor, the router will be placed under the stairs, in front of the utility room (the space is not fully recessed, standing height)
- On the first floor, an access point will be installed at the staircase leading to the attic (ceiling height)
- In the attic, another access point will be mounted in the hallway on the drywall partition wall (ceiling height)

Question: Is this setup sufficient, and are these locations suitable? Can you recommend any specific products?

Thanks and regards!

Do you have a LAN connection available at all locations? If so, I would install one Unifi Access Point AC Lite on the ceiling in both the upper floor and the attic.

If the positions are suitable, I will have some laid there (I still have a few days before the plasterer arrives)... in the ground floor near the utility room, it’s already planned with the electrician at least.

It would be optimal for the access points to be centrally located on the floor, so on the upper floor I would place it closer to Child 3. The access points either need a power outlet or must be powered via PoE through the LAN cable.

I just realized... I want to have a southwest-facing terrace, see attachment. Should I install supports in both positions or is one enough, and if so, which position would be best? (I want to avoid columns for structural reasons)

So, green or blue position?

Does it matter whether it’s PoE or a power outlet?
