Hi everyone,

we have now been using 5 decentralized fans from Vario-Vent for almost 14 months.
It’s time to share some feedback.

First of all: if you are about to make a purchase, definitely go for the Silent series. They are really very quiet.

More to come...

My experience with Variovent / ZSA after purchasing a Variovent DUO for residential ventilation:

I have been using this device since summer 2014 and purchased the related software and a compatible cable (TTL-232R-5V-AJ) for about €80 (approximately $90). Since the introduction of Windows 10, it has no longer been possible to set the time using this software, which was originally designed for Windows 7—for example, after a power outage. Since August 2018, I have been unsuccessfully trying to set the time with the help of the manufacturer.

After nearly 9 months of unhelpful responses, I was told, among other things, that the internal battery—which is not mentioned in any documentation—is depleted. However, the device does not have a battery, and I was instructed to send the entire unit back to the manufacturer for time adjustment. The exact explanation was that "according to internal consultation, the battery maintains the time setting."

A software update (e.g., available for download) has not been provided and was not considered as a solution.

Describing Variovent / ZSA’s after-sales support as needing significant improvement would be an understatement. My patience is now exhausted, and I strongly advise against purchasing a device from Variovent!

I have now read that ZSA has discontinued production (since August 19). Furthermore, the manufacturer is no longer reachable, at least for wholesale and contractors. So if anyone still has an issue with them, it’s better to consult a lawyer. I am at that point now....

@ mauhin: We have also heard about the insolvency; on the website "Versteigerungskalender.de," ZSA is listed among the insolvent companies. However, the online portal is still operational, and the websites of ZSA and Vario-Vent are still working. According to our installer, he has several large crates of spare parts, but I do not know if they were purchased or won at auction.

I also have six decentralized Duo-live units from Vario Vent and the issue that two out of two spots have not been working for three weeks, and Vario Vent is no longer reachable. Therefore, my question is, does anyone have contact with someone who still has spare parts? Alternatively, a 1:1 copy of a memory card would be enough for me, but the spot should be in factory settings. The spot is just a Raspberry Pi in a cheap casing. I would really appreciate any help.

Hello Jimy2004,

Unfortunately, I am unable to send you a private message. If you need to get in touch, try to convince the administrators to provide you with my email address – you have my approval.

Hello
I have been using the 3 Vario Vent Duo units since 2017. I have also installed 2 empty sleeves but have not equipped them yet; I am about to do that now. One of the three units (the one with the spot) cannot currently be reached via Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi availability indicator for this unit shows zero bars, even though the spot is installed in this unit and the other two units are accessible.
Can anyone here give me a tip?
Thanks and best regards, Lwutzler
