Hello. We are currently having our kitchen designed by a kitchen studio. Along one wall, there will first be a tall cabinet with an integrated dishwasher (59.8cm deep (23.5 inches)), then a deep freestanding refrigerator (81cm deep (31.9 inches), including a rear spacer), and finally another tall cabinet with an integrated oven (59.8cm deep (23.5 inches)). The kitchen planner said this would not be a problem. They suggested pulling the tall cabinets forward by 21.2cm (8.3 inches) so that the deep refrigerator would be flush with the adjacent tall cabinets on either side. Somehow, this seems a bit odd to me. What do you think about this idea?
This is the ongoing issue with side-by-side refrigerators installed within a tall cabinet wall. However, you cannot fully pull out the adjacent cabinets, so you need to check the angle and clearance required for the doors of the side-by-side refrigerator.
Maybe reconsider the kitchen layout and get rid of the side-by-side refrigerator 😉.

A side-by-side fridge is my wife’s heartfelt wish... You might be familiar with this. If it is possible to move the tall cabinets forward, we would do it as well. Does anyone else have an opinion on this?Of course, it is possible to move them forward.
However, the side would then need to be clad, and the tall cabinets would have to be securely fastened at the top.
This should not be a problem.
Still: anyone who wants a side-by-side fridge hasn’t done proper research and is simply following the current mainstream trend blindly. So it is worth researching the side-by-side fridge option first instead of immediately insisting “I want, I want, I want.” Then you can also look into alternatives or ways to integrate it properly.

... then a freestanding refrigerator ... and then still"Freestanding" means exactly that—standalone. When a refrigerator is built-in, it is no longer freestanding but designed to fit into cabinetry.
Would it be an option to integrate your planned structure by creating a boxed-in recess with a flush surrounding wall that extends the back wall about 80cm (32 inches) into the kitchen?
